Dr. Alexis Eggen

Favorite movie featuring animals: Free Willy was my favorite movie growing up and it sparked my love for animals. It was a serendipitous moment when I first started at Hillside and learned that Dr. Rosonke worked with the orcas at SeaWorld.

Favorite part of working with animals: My favorite part is treating them as if they are my own. When you receive the trust and love of an animal, it makes your day so fulfilling and rewarding. My goal is to always make my patients comfortable and cared for. It also makes my day getting to meet the families and making them feel a part of the team of their pet's health. I love to get to know each family and learn more about them at each visit!

Year you started working in the veterinary field: 2020 at Hillside as a receptionist, and I made my way up to technician! I left in 2022 to attend veterinary school at Ross University in Saint Kitts and Nevis and attended my clinical year at Purdue University. Now I am blessed and excited to be welcomed back to the Hillside team as an official veterinarian!

Best way to spend a Saturday: My ideal Saturday would be going to the gym in the morning, getting brunch after in Agritopia, spending some time in the pool, attending afternoon church, and then spending time with my family.

Last concert you attended: Art Garfunkel! My dad's cousin is Art's guitarist and travels with him around the world to tour.
