What was your first pet? My first pet was a brindle Pitbull mix named Zeke. Little did I know, years later I would get another brindle Pitbull named Gemma. She completes our family dynamic well just like Zeke did when I was younger.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in a suburb of Toledo, Ohio just south of the Michigan border. Although I was born and raised there, I always knew something more was out there for me. Driving 28 hours with a fiancé, child, and Pitbull to Arizona was an experience, but settling in and finding Hillside Animal Hospital makes me feel like I made the right decision.
Year you started working in the veterinary field: I started working in the field in June of 2018. It was quite a change from my previous job as a pizza delivery driver, but once I got started in the field, I knew that this would be something I could finally make a career out of.
Favorite sports team? I am an avid sports fan with favorite teams all over. In the NFL, I root for the Minnesota Vikings and have since 2004. In the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks have been my favorite team since 2001. I also root collegiately for the Tennessee Volunteers. Rocky Top will always be home sweet home to me.
Who are your heroes in real life? Historically, I'd have to go with Martin Luther King Jr. In a literal sense, anyone working with animals is a hero to me since the animals can't help themselves. Personally though, I'd have to go with my grandparents who raised me (Mamaw and Popps). I literally and figuratively wouldn't be here without them.
