Associate Veterinarian

Where did you grow up?
My dad was a fighter pilot in the Navy so growing up I lived in LA, San Diego, Virginia, Maryland, and Texas.

Best way to spend a Saturday:
My perfect Saturday would be spent with my family and animals relaxing in a cabin in the mountains. I would sleep in, then drink coffee on the porch and eat breakfast burritos with my husband. Then we would all go on a hike which would end with a picnic. Finally, we would get back to the cabin and watch a Disney movie together (my daughter is 1).

Year you started working in the veterinary field:
My undergraduate degree is in accounting, but I always knew I wanted to work with animals. I spent my weekends volunteering at a dog and cat rescue, and then in 2007 I transitioned into a position as an animal health technician at a small animal hospital in California. My experience at that hospital was so wonderful that I then dedicated myself to becoming a veterinarian.

What was your first pet?
Sir Winston Churchill II was a handsome, goofy Golden Retriever. My parents got him as a puppy so he and I grew up together. I currently have a German Shepherd, but Golden Retrievers will always hold a special place in my heart.

Favorite sports team?
I am a big fan of the (San Diego) Los Angeles Chargers. I went to undergrad in San Diego and have been following the Chargers for years. They are my team no matter where they are located or how well (or poorly) they perform!
