Client Service Representative (part time and full-time)

The Client Service Representative (CSR) team member has the responsibility of upholding client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service to all potential and current Hillside Animal Hospital clients. The CSR must demonstrate the ability to interact with clients and their pets in a welcoming, professional manner both in the hospital and over the telephone. The CSR insures comfortable flow of client activity by continually communicating and coordinating with the technicians and veterinarian. CSR's must be able to articulate basic veterinary information to clients with confidence, including the ability to inspire new clients to join the practice by enthusiastically relating the benefits of our services for the health and well-beings of their pets. In addition, a CSR must be able to think on his/her feet to handle stressful situations with a high level of composure and to take appropriate action according to the situation. Multi-tasking is central to this position, so the CSR must be able to handle multiple projects with ease and must demonstrate proficiency in prioritizing tasks and maintaining a high level of organization. The CSR is a key team member as he/she is often the first point of contact to potential and existing clients and therefore must project a polished, professional and compassionate image. CSR's report directly to the Client Services Manager.

Veterinary Technician

The Veterinary Technician team member has the responsibility of upholding client satisfaction by providing excellent and compassionate care to client pets and enhancing client compliance through continuous individualized client education. The Veterinary Technician has a multifaceted role and must be confident in performing his/her responsibilities individually, and must be able to see the implications of his/her role in the bigger picture of client satisfaction and compliance and how that translates into the financial health of the practice. Learning and applying technical information is central to this role, as is the ability to communicate technical information to the client in an easy to understand manner. The Veterinary Technician must be able to collaborate with the Veterinarian and the Client Service Representative in assuring that the client experience runs smoothly. From a client perspective, the Veterinary Technician's goal is to be seen as a partner in their pet's health and a personal resource for information about their pet's medical care. Veterinary Technicians must work well under pressure and be able to maintain a composed demeanor in the presence of clients, even under difficult circumstances. At Hillside Animal Hospital, continuing education is highly valued, and Veterinary Technicians are expected to take the initiative in seeking out opportunities to either learn new skills or sharpen existing skills in order to deliver the most up-to-date and high quality care to our clients.
Veterinary Technicians report directly to the Medical Director, and hold additional responsibilities in supervising and training Veterinary Assistants.

Veterinary Technician Assistant

At Hillside Animal Hospital, the Technician Assistant (TA) position is an entry-level opportunity for individuals who have an interest in pursuing a career in the veterinary field. Technician Assistants perform behind the scenes duties that support both the medical and client service functions of Hillside Animal Hospital and include housekeeping, walking pets, animal restraint for treatments, assisting with stocking of inventory. This position is part-time, and includes Saturdays. The Technician Assistants report directly to the Technician Manager.
